MIDNIGHT SUN WILDLIFE SEA SAFARI

MIDNIGHT
SUN SAFARI

Experience the magic
of the midnight sun

In northern Norway we are very lucky to have such a huge range of wildlife. We are even more lucky that we are able to get so close to it. Some of the biggest nesting cliffs in Europe are found by the bountiful sea here and are home to puffins, razorbills, auks, storm petrels, northern gannets and the mighty white-tailed sea eagle.

The safari passes seal and cormorant colonies and often provides breathtaking views of white-tailed eagles swooping down—wings (up to eight feet across) and talons extended—to snatch unsuspecting fish from the sea. There are also chances to see otters, and maybe harbour porpoises. And if you’re super-lucky, basking orcas and majestic humpbacks.

The northern coast of Norway is an unspoilt land of wonder, and the perfect place to watch the midnight sun. One of the most spectacular options is a midnight voyage to open water, where the goldenrod sky appears to melt seamlessly into the shimmering sea.

The trip takes you out to the open ocean, where you can fish, take unique photos, or simply enjoy the magical atmosphere. The season of the midnight sun is an active time for wildlife, and seeing a seal, otter, or white-tailed eagle is virtually guaranteed. If we are lucky, we might also see wales. Enjoy the golden hours of the seemingly endless midnight sun out on the waters. Perfect for photographers and romantics alike.

Norway is often called the Land of the Midnight Sun. During the magical nights of the Arctic summer, the sun doesn’t set below the horizon. Like a prolonged sunset and sunrise all at once, the midnight sun paints heaven and earth in a surrealistic palette of pink, purple, yellow and red hues, making the surrounding scenery appear almost dreamlike.

The northern coast of Norway is an unspoilt land of wonder, and the perfect place to enjoy the eternal dawn. The warm and magical light of the midnight sun makes it possible to go fishing, sightseeing or campfiring — no matter how late or early it is. You may as well leave your watch in your suitcase, because the day has neither a beginning nor an end.
